FEAST DAYS - BIRTHS - WEDDINGS - DEATHS

In spite of the often harsh life in the medieval period, celebrations, whether religious or personal, were fairly frequent. On the following pages, you will find some general information. This is by no means the total and complete guide to each occasion. Pictured above are some musicians from the German manuscript, "the Manesse Codex", 1300-1320.

- DEATHS - Saying goodbye to your loved ones

Many of our customs today have remained from medieval days. Apple bobbing is a traditional game and the practice of divining the love of a potential suitor by plucking the petals of a rose to see if "he loves me" or "he loves me not" is still something that romantic young girls do.
