Notes: Button body is slightly domed with an integral cast
shank which is circular. The button loop is complete and unbroken.
Although the button was found in a Roman area, the style, size
and type are consistant with later, medieval finds.
Found on Dere Street course
of a Roman road in Durham County, England in the 1970s by seller's
father L299. Described as "Nice little Roman/Medieval copper
alloy button, intact."

Notes: The button is a slightly flattened ball shaped with
five raised nubs on the upper surface of the ball. There is a
central num with the further four equally spaced from the centre
and each other. The shank is of wire construction and is complete
and unbroken. The button body is hollow and formed in two pieces
which are joined at the circumference where a line is visible.
As found in the soil, not
cleaned and still with the earth deposits remaining.

Notes: The button is of a flattened ball shape and of cast
construction. The shank is an integral part of the button. The
top of the ball has a number of lgrooves radiating out from the
centre. The button is complete and unbroken. The button is identical
to those found on leather pouches.

Notes: The button is ball shaped and of cast construction.
The shank and loop are integral. There are two lines which run
around the circumference and another which runs across the top
surface of the button. A number of lines radiate at right angles
to the top line along the upper and lower of the body.
Found in the Balkans. As

remaining.
