Notes: Frame is slightly convex with a vestigal ridge near each corner. Narrow outside edge retains the folding end. The rectangular plate is recessed with a single copper alloy rivet present at the sprung attachment edge.

This item described as: Medieval Britain. An early bronze strap connector with 95% of the silver finish remaining. From a small collection formed in the 1980's.

Notes: The pivoting clasp plate is decorated with a series of lines along the outside edge and two crosses set inside two squares towards the inner on the plate. The strap clasp moves freely. The rectangular plate is recessed with a single copper alloy rivet present at the sprung attachment edge. The belt plate has a singular piercing for a rivet which is present.

From a collector in Essex, England.

Notes
: The folding clasp in complete and in tact. The clasp mooves freely. Two very faint lines of wrigglework are apparent under magnification. The plate is of folded sheet metal construction and is complete and undecorated. There is one piercing each side for a rivet which is in situ.

From an old Private English collection. Bronze folding strap clasp found in Great Britain. L58h.

Notes
: Folding clasp frame is slightly convex with a vestigal ridge near each corner. Narrow outside edge retains the folding end which has a singular rivet which would have held an applied decoration in place.

The plate is constructed with the folding sheet method and narrows towards the belt where it has a singular piercing on each side for a rivet, which remains in situ. The plate is broken at the buckle frame edge. The folding clasp works freely.

A substantial amount of textile strap remains.

Notes: Frame is complete and unbroken. The lower bar indicated the use with a plate. There is no indication that this was used with a pin. A single circular head has a crown with three points. The face has a horizontal mouth indented.

Notes: 1 piece folded construction terminating in a flat fold. The strap end is completely undecorated and is a half-hexagon on the end where it attaches to the belt. There is a tubular hollow on the fold indicating use with a strap clasp. There is a singular piercing and rivet remains.
